Port Allegany had four Gator athletes named to the Allegheny Mountain League All-Star Team. Ryan Bodamer was selected on defense, for his stellar play as a linebacker. Bodamer wrapped up his high school career by leading the team with 114 total tackles. He also racked up a sack and 2 interceptions as well.
On the offensive side of the ball, Port had Seniors Lucas Kline and Adam Greenman, as well as Junior Seth Lowery selected. Kline was one of Freshman Quarterback Matt Bodamer’s two main targets this year, along with Junior Camrin Stuckey. Kline totaled 487 yards receiving for the year on 20 receptions, 6 of which went for touchdowns. Kline’s biggest game of the ’09 season was against Sheffield. In that game, he had 4 catches for 166 yards, and 3 touchdowns. He also threw a 27 yard touchdown pass as well.
Adam Greenman, a 5-9, 170 pound offensive lineman was selected for his play on offense. He did a great job this season, oftentimes being matched up against much bigger opponents. He helped protect Matt Bodamer, who threw for 14 touchdowns on the season, and also led the District in QB Rating. Greenman also helped open holes for Jr. Seth Lowery, who led the team in rushing. Lowery totaled 829 yards, and found the end zone 6 times. Seth had two monster games against Elk County Catholic and Kane. In the ECC game, he racked up 179 yards and 3 touchdowns. Against Kane, he ended up with 209 yards and 2 touchdowns.
In addition to being named to the AML All-Star Team, Bodamer, Kline, and Lowery were also named to the Olean Times Herald Big 30 Team. These 3 seniors will be sorely missed in the 2010 season, but Port Allegany figures to bring back a strong squad which should compete for the Allegheny Mountain League Title. They will return junior playmakers Seth Lowery and Camrin Stuckey. Not to mention, Sophomore QB Matt Bodamer who finished 3rd in the D9Sports.com Rookie of the Year ballot. Port Allegany will also bring back a strong group of underclassmen, as well as this years Junior High Team, which sported an 8-0 record.
